Job Description Job Summary: The Sterile Processing Tech I is responsible for sterilizing, preparing, and storing surgical instruments for the healthcare system. This role primarily involves working in decontamination with occasional tray assembly, supporting operating rooms and clinical departments. Responsibilities: Clean, sterilize, and store surgical instruments according to established procedures. Prepare case carts for the operating rooms to ensure timely and accurate instrument availability. Collaborate with vendors and staff to manage tray instruments from various manufacturers. Maintain compliance with certification requirements and documentation standards. Support decontamination processes to uphold infection control protocols. Complete required modules and certifications, including Epic charting as mandated. Qualifications: Hold a certification such as CRCST or CSPDT at the time of hire and maintain it throughout employment. Possess a minimum of 5 years' sterile processing experience in a hospital setting. Demonstrate proficiency in Epic charting software. Have a high school diploma or GED preferred. Maintain current Oregon CNA license; Oregon RN license is pending acceptable. Be certified and compliant with hospital and state regulations.
