Optical Engineer
Job title: Optical EngineerLocation: Massachusetts, United StatesResponsibilitiesPrototype and characterize next-generation miniaturized imaging and sensing systems.Perform optical metrology measurements and conduct statistical data analysis on optical components.Develop and refine optical characterization and testing setups.Collaborate closely with cross-functional R&D teams to support rapid prototyping and product development.Contribute to the design, testing, and optimization of optical systems and components.Support the transition from research and development into scalable product solutions.Skills and QualificationsStrong technical background in optical system design, prototyping, and characterization.Proficiency in optical design software (e.g., Zemax or similar tools).Experience with programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, or C/C++.Solid analytical skills with the ability to interpret experimental data and drive insights.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative, and multidisciplinary environment.Strong problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail.ExperienceDegree-qualified (BS or MS) in Physics, Optics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.Experience in prototyping and characterization of imaging and/or sensing systems.Industry experience within optics, photonics, or related high-tech fields is advantageous.Experience with high-volume optical testing is beneficial.Exposure to camera optomechanical design and assembly is a plus.About CLMAt CLM, we specialize in executive search across manufacturing, energy, and technology.
