Role SummaryThe Business Development Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and performance of the Business Development teams. This role ensures consistent execution of sales activities, accountability across teams, and alignment with company revenue goals.This position acts as the primary connection between leadership strategy and frontline execution, translating direction into daily action while maintaining visibility into team performance and pipeline activity.This is a newly formalized leadership role designed to strengthen the structure, consistency, and long-term success of the Business Development team. The right candidate will have the opportunity to help shape the function, establish strong team rhythms, and bring leadership to a role that plays a major part in the company's continued growth.Core ResponsibilitiesTeam Management & CoachingManage day-to-day performance of Business Development team membersConduct regular one-on-one meetings to review performance, address challenges, provide coaching, and support the continued development of direct reportsLead weekly team meetings focused on activity, performance, and alignmentOversee onboarding, ongoing training, and real-time feedback to improve individual performance and overall team effectivenessFoster team engagement, accountability, and consistencyRevenue Execution & AccountabilityEnsure consistent sales activity across teams, including call volume, outreach activities, follow-ups, and pipeline movementMonitor revenue performance and ensure alignment with company goalsMaintain visibility into key metrics including ROs, pipeline status, and quarterly performanceAct as a resource for escalation on deals, accounts, and prospect challengesDrive execution of company initiatives at the team levelPipeline Visibility & Operational AwarenessMaintain a clear and current understanding of all active leads, key opportunities, and pipeline healthIdentify gaps in execution and escalate systemic issues to leadershipCommunication & Leadership AlignmentAct as a buffer between team members and leadership, ensuring concerns are communicated and addressed appropriatelySurface team feedback, challenges, and opportunities to leadershipPartner with the Managing Director to ensure alignment between expectations and executionParticipate in regular leadership check-ins and cross-team coordinationPolicy & Process EnforcementEnforce correct sales protocols, processes, and proceduresEnsure compliance with documentation standardsPrevent role drift within Business DevelopmentIdentify structural gaps and recommend operational improvementsPerformance & ReportingWork with leadership to define and monitor sales activity and performance KPIsEstablish visibility into:Call volume and outreach activityLead-to-RO conversion ratesPipeline health and stage progressionRevenue performance by rep and teamOpportunity aging and stalled dealsPartner with Sales Operations to ensure reporting accuracy and data integrityDrive data-informed decision-making within the Business Development teamsKey Success IndicatorsConsistent sales metrics activity across teamsClear visibility into pipeline health, activity, and team performanceIncreased revenue consistency across periodsReduction in stalled or neglected opportunitiesStrong adoption of defined sales processes and workflowsEarly identification and escalation of pipeline or performance risksImproved alignment between individual performance and team goalsCompetencies RequiredStrong people leadership and coaching abilityAbility to drive accountability and consistent performance across teamsHigh level of operational awareness and attention to detailComfort managing underperformance and difficult conversationsDeep understanding of the sales process and revenue drivers within RxRSAbility to maintain real-time awareness of pipeline, activity, and resultsCross-functional communication skills to surface issues and align with leadershipAbility to bring structure and consistency to a fast-moving, reactive environmentCompetencies PreferredStrong knowledge and/or experience with pharmaceutical reverse distributionStrong knowledge or experience with pharmaceuticalsDepartment: SalesReports To: Managing Director of Marketing & Sales OperationsDirect Reports: Business Development Specialists (Inside & Field)Company Description Rx Return Services is committed to revolutionizing pharmaceutical returns and waste management solutions for businesses across the board.
