Must have good organizational skills. Ability to process/maintain paperwork. Excellent computer skills and secretarial dutiesGeneral Summary: Must have a desire to provide each student the fullest opportunity to receive a quality education by assisting to minimize their absences due to illness. Create an environment that promotes the health and well-being of students and staff. Be able to respond in health related situations with appropriate treatment in a timely manner. Provide treatment for health related issues under direct supervision of designated school nurse. Effective communication between supervising Nurse, Building Principal and the Director of Health Services.Performance Responsibilities:Assist nurse in maintaining health records on studentsMaintain/Update student emergency informationMaintain a log of student's health room visits through SISProvide clear, accurate documentation of all health room visitsAssist students/staff with illness by taking temperatures, blood pressures, pulse oxygenation, respirationsAssist students/staff with injuries by performing first aid, as specified by the specific nurseAssist Nurse with screening programAdminister medication as directed by supervising nursePerform medical procedures such as tube feeding, assistance to restroom/catheterizationPerform vision screeningAssist with post-surgical care on return to schoolProvide direct communication to parents regarding health care needs of their studentsCommunicate and assist in the care of Special Needs studentsStrictly adheres to confidentiality regarding all health related matters pertaining to the Nurse's officeAbility to stay on his/her feet for extended periods of time and ability to assist in lifting studentsType of Position: Hourly - At-Will EmployeeReports to: Director of Health ServicesEvaluated by: Director of Health ServicesContract: 185 days
