Safety & DevelopmentPosition Summary: This role is responsible for developing and managing both safety and employee development programs to reduce operational risk, ensure regulatory compliance, and elevate workforce capability across all levels of the organizationfrom machine operators to plant supervisors.
Safety and Development is responsible for effectively developing, administering, and evaluating safety and training programs to ensure compliance with state, federal, and regulatory rules according to industry standards. This position assesses company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives and arranges suitable training solutions for Employees.
QualificationsPosition Duties & Responsibilities:
Conducts annual training and development needs assessment.
Develops training and development programs and objectives
Obtains and/or develops effective training materials utilizing a variety of media
Trains and coaches managers, supervisors and others involved in employee development efforts
Manages organizational communications regarding training and development events or resources via intranet bulletin boards and newsletters
Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization
Works effectively as a team member with other members of management and the HR staff
Advises on provisions to minimize safety risks
Develops and enforces OSHA policies and provides OSHA training (e.g. accident reporting process).
Direct accident investigation and propose corrective actions as necessary. Liaise with and report to official OSHA matters.
Intervenes in unsafe operations. Collaborates with managers to monitor compliance and identify safety issues.
Maintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required
Lead emergency preparedness planning, including drills, evacuation protocols, and business continuity.
Oversee training programs for leadership development, technical skills, compliance, and soft skills.
Partner with department heads to identify role-specific training needs and performance gaps.
Develop and implement learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning platforms.
Lead cross-functional committees on workplace safety and learning initiatives.

Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Knowledge of designing and implementing employee development programs
Minimum of three years of experience in subject field
Knowledge:
Know and understand OSHA regulations and stay current on changes
Represent the workers in your work group on health and safety matters and in discussions with managers on hazards and safety issues
Monitor that the person conducting the business is meeting health and safety standards
Promote the health and safety of workers in your work group
Provide a vital communication link between people at work and necessary outside contacts
Equipment and the day to day functions
General understanding of all employee positions tasks

Skills & Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication and critical thinking.
Must adhere to company confidentiality policies and procedures regarding the handling of proprietary, personal, and/or sensitive information.
Strong ability to work in an independent and collaborative setting.
Strong presentation skills
Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods; superb track record in developing and executing successful training programs.
Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives
Other Requirements:
Occasional travel to training seminars, compliance workshops, or sister facilities.
Flexibility to work outside standard hours, including evenings or weekends, as required by operational needs.
Work Environment:
Exposed to work in manufacturing/machining area settings with exposure to oil, coolant, and metal residues
Intermittent exposure to sounds or noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable
Primarily requires sitting but at times, requires long periods of standing
At times, work is completed in a manufacturing facility requiring appropriate protective equipment at all times
Physical Demands:
Lift and carry a maximum of 45 pounds
Wear protective eyewear and/or other protective gear correctly
