Story DirectorSoCreate Storyteller — San Luis Obispo, CAOn-site | Full-time/Part-time | $20/hourAt SoCreate, we're building new ways for people to experience stories. We're looking for highly detail-oriented, creatively driven people to help bring people's stories to life on the SoCreate Storyteller platform.This role is ideal for someone who genuinely loves movies and television and notices the small imperfections and details that annoy their friends when they point them out. You must understand what makes scenes emotionally impactful and enjoy spending focused time identifying where audio-visual experiences can be improved.What You'll DoHelp ensure stories written and then published by SoCreate Members result in compelling audio-visual movie-like experiencesEnsure visual and tonal consistency across scenes and charactersReview scenes closely for continuity issues, inconsistencies, pacing problems, and immersion-breaking detailsCollaborate with the team to help improve our AI in areas like scene quality, emotional impact, and storytelling clarityWhat We're Looking ForExtreme attention to detail and the ability to stay focused for long periods of timeCreative instincts and a strong understanding of cinematic storytellingPassion for movies, television, and visual storytelling in generalThe drive and willingness to not give up until the outcome meets our extremely high standardsAbility to recognize what makes a scene emotionally effective — and identify what feels "off."Comfortable working at a computer in a production-focused environment for long periods of timeLoves direct feedback and the opportunity to grow through direct feedbackStrong written communication and organizational skillsAbility to follow creative direction while also contributing ideas and improvementsInterest in AI-generated media, filmmaking, editing, sound, or visual designBonus SkillsNot required, but helpful:Background in filmmaking, editing, photography, design, writing, or sound productionUnderstanding of cinematic language, such as composition, pacing, tone, continuity, and moodFamiliarity with story structure and character-driven storytellingWhy This Role Is UniqueYou'll help shape a new form of storytelling that audiences can watch and enjoy.
