This position is ideal for someone who loves the operating room environment but is ready to step into a leadership and instructional role with steady hours, great benefits, and a strong career path in career and technical education (CTE).What You'll DoTeach and mentor secondary (dual-enrolled) and post-secondary students in Surgical Technology.Lead and manage the CTE curriculum, ensuring alignment with district, state, and college standards.Create a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment.Oversee student testing, skill assessments, and program evaluations.Use industry trends, employer feedback, and performance data to strengthen instruction.Support student organizations such as SkillsUSA or HOSA.Collaborate with staff, administration, and community partners to build a high-performing program.Participate in accreditation activities, program advisory meetings, and college events.Maintain equipment, classrooms, records, and program materials.Represent the program in the community and support college recruitment and student success initiatives.What Makes You a Strong FitBachelor's degree + 1 year of experience OR Associate degree + 2 years OR High School/GED + 3 years in the CTE field.Certified (or certifiable) as a CTE instructor in the appropriate subject area, or eligible for state certification.National or state-recognized Surgical Technology certification approved by the Florida Department of Education.Strong communication skills, organization, and the ability to manage groups effectively.Motivational, student-centered approach to teaching.Solid understanding of Surgical Technology equipment, procedures, and best practices.Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to dynamic instructional needs.Key SkillsClassroom managementStudent engagementCurriculum implementationProfessional communicationTime managementTechnology proficiencyKnowledge of CTE regulations and instructional standardsWhy You'll Love This RoleFull-time benefits including health insurance, retirement plan, and wellness programs.Nights and weekends off.Fridays off in June and most of July off.Stable schedule with strong district and college support.Opportunity to directly impact workforce readiness in a high-demand field.Work Schedule & PayFull-time, school-year schedule per MEA and School Board of Manatee County agreement.Salary: $50,000-$62,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
