The shipping clerk is responsible for loading activities, scheduling truck appointments, and ensuring accurate, timely shipment of materials. Maintains inventory accuracy and required documentation using manual and computer systems.RequirementsPrepare bills of lading, pick tickets, and shipping documentsReceive and log inbound materialsVerify accuracy of inventory and paperworkEnsure all outbound materials are properly labeled and shippedOperate forklift and overhead crane to move and load materialsMaintain a safe, clean work environmentTransfer materialsPerform other duties as assignedYou should be computer-literate to maintain the associated production documents. Experience driving a forklift, overhead crane, material handler, and steel handler experience is desired. This is a physically demanding job which requires standing, bending, twisting, stooping, and the ability to move up to 50 lbs.Prior experience in machine operation and/or steel manufacturing experience is preferred for Slitter Opportunities; prior experience operating steel slitter machines is a bonus.Preferred Experience (Not Required)If you've worked in manufacturing or have experience such as:Shipping/receiving experience preferredStrong organizational, communication, and multitasking skillsHigh attention to detail; accurate data entryProficient with computer systemsStrong math skills and ability to follow written instructions...you'll fit right in.
