An opening for an experienced Registered Nurse with MedSurg and Telemetry skills is available in a hospital setting in Shelby, NC. This contract role offers the opportunity to contribute to patient care in a 24-bed unit with a focus on various diagnoses including cardiac, respiratory, and neurological conditions.Location InsightShelby, NC, provides a community-focused environment with access to quality healthcare. The hospital has 241 licensed beds, designated as a Level 3 Trauma Center, and is recognized as a Certified Chest Pain and Stroke Center, ensuring a dynamic and professional nursing environment.ResponsibilitiesCare for patients with complex medical and telemetry needs in a fast-paced observation unitPerform cardiac rhythm interpretation and administer non-titrating cardiac drips such as Cardizem and AmiodaroneProvide general medical/surgical nursing care including managing tubes and drains, IV starts, blood product administration, and wound careCollaborate with a multidisciplinary team including CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, and respiratory therapistsUtilize EMR systems (Epic required with at least 6 months experience), IV pumps (Alaris), and medication dispensing systems (Omnicell)Float within the region as needed, respecting scope of practiceQualificationsMinimum 18 months MedSurg/Telemetry nursing experienceCurrent RN licensure and certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSSProficient with cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry careExperience with Epic EMR (at least 6 months) essentialSchedule and Work ConditionsShifts: 6:45 AM-7:15 PM and 6:45 PM-7:15 AMWeekend rotation every other weekendHoliday coverage required for approximately 75% of holidaysPotential low census on-call with flexible call timesFree parking providedScrubs color: Navy
