Structural Steel Estimator

Prepares steel fabrication quotations by analyzing Requests for Quote requirements, technical drawings and associated specifications. Qualifications:-         Previous experience (1-5 years) in structural steel estimating and project management-         Good understanding of connection calculations-         Strong analysis and critical thinking skills-         Deadline and detail-oriented-         Basic understanding of structural steel fabrication practices including knowledge of structural shapes and general industry terminology-         Strong verbal and written communication skills-         Ability to simultaneously handle multiple projects at different stages-         Strong background with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and ACAD-         Experience with EJE preferredResponsibilities:-         Review contract documents (Design drawings, specs, proposal…etc.)-         Preparing pricing estimates, including developing a takeoff of all material and labor required for the project-         This takeoff will be combined with outside vendor pricing to produce a complete project cost estimate-         Coordinate with the customers to help ensure we are providing a complete package with a thorough understanding of the project schedule and project specific requirements-         Review shop drawings and erection plans for conformance and accuracy-         Create schedules and phasing plans to meet the customers’ needs-         Ensure submittal and target delivery deadlines are met-         Maintain required project documentation -         Assess, address and execute any problems/issues related to the project
