This role provides leadership, staffing oversight, and direct patient care as needed while promoting a culture of safety, service excellence, and shared governance.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & OperationsAssists in developing departmental goals aligned with nursing and organizational strategic plansInterviews, hires, evaluates, counsels, and disciplines staff in accordance with policySchedules staff based on departmental needs and budgeted staffing plansUpdates staffing budgets and monitors variancesConducts monthly staff meetings and maintains meeting recordsParticipates in committees, projects, and performance improvement initiativesClinical & Quality OversightPeriodically provides direct patient care as neededEnsures compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and patient safety standardsSupports performance improvement initiatives and quality metricsDevelops and implements evidence-based standards of care, policies, and proceduresPromotes patient satisfaction and service excellence initiativesStaff Development & EducationEnsures completion of orientation, competencies, and ongoing educationAttends educational programs to maintain leadership and clinical expertiseCommunicates departmental and organizational updates effectivelyCompliance & Professional PracticeAdheres to nursing ethics, patient rights, and safety standardsDelegates activities in accordance with Nurse Practice Act guidelinesSupports Magnet and shared governance initiativesMaintains compliance with professional standards and organizational policiesRequirementsEducation & LicensureCurrent RN licenseBSN requiredBLS certification (American Heart Association) requiredACLS preferred (may be required depending on department)Specialty certification or CNML preferred; required within 3 years of hireExperienceMinimum 2 years of relevant acute care experiencePrevious leadership or management experience preferredAbility to function clinically as a staff RNSkillsStrong clinical judgment and leadership abilityExcellent verbal and written communication skillsWorking knowledge of management and staffing practicesAdditional InformationICU settingNo floating requiredEPIC charting systemOn-site interview processContact me directly for more information:Daniel TrowbridgeMedical Solutions Direct Hire C/T: About Medical Solutions Direct HireAt Medical Solutions, we're people who care, helping people who care.
