Carylon operates a nationwide platform of 15 operating companies delivering trenchless rehabilitation solutions across the United States.Position Overview:Carylon is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to help build and lead a centralized corporate estimating function supporting our operating companies nationwide.This role is not a traditional, siloed estimating position. The successful candidate will play a key role in standardizing bidding practices, developing production-based cost models, and improving bid accuracy and win rates across a diverse portfolio of publicly bid municipal work.The ideal candidate has experience in heavy civil, underground utilities, or trenchless rehabilitation (CIPP preferred) and is comfortable working in a unit-price, production-driven environment.Why This Role:This is a unique opportunity to help shape and build a national estimating platform within a market-leading organization. The role offers visibility across senior leadership and direct impact on company growth, profitability, and strategic direction.Job Details:Position: Senior EstimatorLocation: Canton, MAPay: $90,000-$110,000 per year (Negotiable based on experience)Full Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, ESOPKey Responsibilities:Lead preparation of competitive, accurate bids for municipal and public works projects across multiple regionsReview plans, specifications, and contract documents with a focus on risk identification and constructabilityDevelop and refine production rates, crew builds, and cost models specific to CIPP and underground rehabilitation workCollaborate with regional operating companies, superintendents, and field leadership to validate assumptions and means/methodsAttend pre-bid meetings and site visits as requiredSolicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricingParticipate in and help lead bid review and strategy meetingsSupport the development of standardized estimating processes, templates, and tools across the organizationAssist in building and mentoring a corporate estimating team over timeAnalyze historical job cost data to improve future bid accuracy and marginsQualifications:7+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil, underground utilities, pipeline rehabilitation, or related fieldsStrong understanding of unit-price bidding and public contract procurementExperience with CIPP (Cured-In-Place Pipe) or trenchless technologies strongly preferredProven ability to develop production-based estimates (not just quantity takeoffs)Experience reviewing municipal/DOT specifications and contract documentsStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsProficiency in estimating software and Excel-based cost modelingAbility to work across multiple regions and operating teamsPhysical Requirements:Ability to perform site visits, including walking active construction sites as neededRequirements:Valid driver's licenseAbility to pass a background check and drug screeningAA/EEO StatementThe Company provides Equal Employment Opportunity for all individuals regardless of race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, marital status, sexual orientation, status as a protected veteran, genetic information, status as a qualified individual with a disability and any other basis protected by federal, state, or local laws.Carylon considers qualified applicants with a criminal history.
