Locum Tenens Family Nurse Practitioner Opportunity Near Grants, NM (Job ID: j-242885) We are seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) for a locum tenens position near Grants, NM. This role provides an excellent opportunity to serve in a rural primary health clinic with a variety of responsibilities. The position is available immediately and will continue on an ongoing basis. Position Overview: Specialty: Family Nurse Practitioner Location: Near Grants, NM Start Date: ASAP End Date: Ongoing Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours Only Practice Setting: Outpatient EMR System: NextGen Job ID: j-242885 Responsibilities: Outpatient Care: Provide primary and urgent care services to patients of all ages, from infants to the elderly. Perform procedures including toenail removal, ear lavage, cryotherapy for warts, lesions, and skin tag removal. Handle minor urgent care needs, such as sutures and wound care. Clinic Coverage: Work at two clinic locations: Quemado (2 days a week) and Reserve (3 days a week). Use provided clinic vehicles for travel between locations. Perform patient visits and manage care in a solo-provider setting. Patient Volume: Manage a patient load of approximately 10-12 patients per shift. No rounding responsibilities. Qualifications: Board Certification: Must be Board-Certified or Board-Eligible as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Licensing: Must hold an active medical license in New Mexico. Certifications Required: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is mandatory. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is required. Fellowship: Not required. Hospital Privileges: Not needed. Temporary Privileges: Not available. Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 60 days. Additional Details: Clinic Environment: The clinic operates from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Providers do not have on-call hours or admitting privileges, as there is no hospital in Catron County. Patients requiring higher levels of care will be transported by local EMS. Additional Duties: Perform and document procedures in NextGen EHR system. Provide a limited number of injections, such as Rocephin, when only the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is available. Obtain certification for performing CDL physicals, if not already certified. This position is ideal for an FNP who is comfortable working independently and is ready to contribute to a critical healthcare resource in a rural setting.
