Job Purpose The Human Resources Director, will initiate and lead HR strategies, and initiatives aligned with targeted business objectives and opportunities. This position is responsible for talent acquisition and retention, maintaining positive employee and labor relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, policy administration, and maintaining legal and regulatory compliance for all human resources related functions. This opportunity will require a “hands on” leader who can build HR systems and execute HR strategies which result in business growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Creates, implements and maintains best-practices HR systems which support strategic business objectives
Develops and leads a high performing, cross-functional team of HR Professionals, who build organizational credibility, and work collaboratively to meet the needs of the organization and employees
Establishes and administers policies and procedures to ensure fair and consistent administration
Provides leadership which fosters a culture of exceptional employee relations, value for diversity, recognition for high performance, opportunity for training and career development, embraces change, engages employees in business ownership, and drives accountability and innovation.
Drives exceptional talent acquisition platform including recruiting, interviewing, selection, and onboarding designed to attract and retain a diverse, qualified talent pool
Establishes and administers benefits and compensation guidelines which support business growth and recruitment and retention of top talent
Establishes achievable performance metrics aligned with business objectives, and develops performance management guidelines
Coaches supervisors and managers regarding employee performance matters.
Conducts internal investigation related to employee complaints and employs appropriate resolution and corrective actions
Conducts regular employee and supervisory training on HR topics, benefits, performance management, disciplinary action, sexual harassment, safety and others
Ensures legal compliance with all regulatory requirements including FMLA, Military Leave, EEO/ADAAA and others as appropriate
Follow any other instructions, and perform any other related duties, as assigned by supervisor.
Education, Knowledge, and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development/Leadership or related field or equivalent experience. PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SCP preferred
Minimum five years' experience in a HR Generalist leadership role, which includes responsibility in employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, policy administration, and compensation and benefits administration.

Demonstrated experience in coaching supervisors in employment related issues including performance management, investigations of employee complaints, disciplinary action and discharge
Demonstrated ability to establish credibility and build trust; demonstrates honesty; keeps commitments; behaves in a consistent ethical manner
Strong communications skills, both oral and written
Strong attention to details, quality and accuracy
Ability to effectively listen to issues and handle critical situations with composure, discretion, good judgement and professionalism
Ability to work in a positive and collaborative manner with others to achieve desired outcomes
Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, effectively utilize available resources and follow through on obligations
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and ERP systems.

Work Environment: Manufacturing and office environment. Exposure to noise, fumes, and dust, while in manufacturing facilities.
Physical Demands: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting, to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard, and to verbally communicate to exchange information. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible. Works indoors most of the time. Works somewhat close to other people, such as when sharing office space.
