Overview
As Senior Software Engineer for Prime Product eCommerce, you will lead design and development of customer-facing digital platforms powering Shop, Prime Online, Cat.com, and related experiences. You will combine hands-on coding with technical leadership, modern web development, cloud architecture, and AI-assisted engineering. You’ll work with cross-functional partners to deliver scalable, API-driven solutions that enhance customer journeys and drive enterprise impact. ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and support scalable web applications, APIs, and integrationsLead technical solution design and architecture decisions across complex initiativesDevelop modern digital experiences using Next.js, React, TypeScript, and cloud-native technologiesImplement resilient integrations with Dealer ERP, DLS, Helios, ONE, and other business systemsDrive engineering excellence through code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and DevOps practicesCollaborate with Product Owners, UX, Architecture, and business stakeholders to deliver customer-focused solutions
Key requirements5+ years of software engineering experience delivering enterprise-scale applicationsStrong experience with React, Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js, REST APIs, and modern web frameworksExperience deploying and supporting applications on Vercel and/or AWSStrong understanding of microservices, API-first design, event-driven architecture, Micro Frontends, and Backend-for-Frontend patternsExperience with CI/CD, automated testing, performance optimization, monitoring, and observabilityProblem-solving skills and ability to lead technical discussions and decisionsExperience with AI-assisted development tools and Specification-Driven Development (SDD)Strong problem-solving skillsAbility to lead technical discussions and decisionsCollaborative with cross-functional teamsNext.jsReactTypeScript
