Accessibility Developer (Front-End)Remote (preference for candidates located in TN)6+ month contractRole OverviewWe are seeking a Front-End Accessibility Remediation Developer to update and fix accessibility issues in existing web applications across multiple organizations. The position is focused on implementing WCAG 2.1 AA compliance fixes identified during accessibility audits. You will work with JSP-based front ends (Java Server Pages), HTML, CSS, and jQuery codebases.This is not a testing role — another vendor will perform retesting. Your primary responsibility is to remediate defects and deliver code changes mapped to the audit findings.ResponsibilitiesImplement accessibility fixes across JSP templates, HTML, CSS, and jQuery codeRemediate audit findings such as:Missing or incorrect labels, headings, and landmarksKeyboard navigation traps and focus order issuesARIA attributes for interactive componentsColor/contrast adjustments to meet WCAG requirementsAccessible forms, error messaging, and dynamic UI updatesUpdate CSS styles for compliant color contrast and scalable textRetrofit legacy UI components (menus, modals, date pickers, tables) with semantic HTML and ARIA patternsDocument all changes made for retesting and compliance trackingCollaborate with project manager and accessibility lead to clarify audit findings and remediation approachSupport accessibility remediation efforts across multiple applications within a centralized teamQualifications3+ years front-end development experienceStrong skills in JSP, HTML5, CSS3, and jQueryProven experience remediating web apps for WCAG 2.1 AA or Section 508 complianceWorking knowledge of ARIA attributes and accessible UI design patternsAbility to interpret accessibility audit reports and translate findings into code fixesFamiliarity with assistive technologies (ANDI, WAVE, Accessibility Insights, NVDA, screen readers, keyboard-only use, CCA) — not for testing, but to understand how fixes are appliedExperience with version control (GitHub) and agile workflowsExperience with IntelliJ or Eclipse IDENice to HaveExperience remediating accessible PDFs generated from web appsExperience with Java/Spring/JEEFamiliarity with accessibility tools (Allyant Hub and/or Evinced) for developer self-checksPrior work on enterprise-scale accessibility projectsDisclaimer: Brooksource, Medasource, and Calculated Hire are part of the Eight Eleven Group family of companies and operate under Eight Eleven Group, LLC.
