Head Start Nutritional Aide

REPORTS TO: FOOD AND NUTRITION SERVICE MANAGER/CNS SPECIALISTTERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:9 Month Calendar - Employee will follow 9 month CLASSIFIED calendar Hourly wage and work year to be determined by the 501 Board of Education Works 7 hours per day in a production kitchen at Sheldon Head Start preschool Must attend and successfully complete Food Safety Basics class within the first six months of employment, and at least once every 5 yearsQUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma or GEDMore advanced math skills, including multiplication and divisionAbility to read and write the English languageDemonstrate knowledge of food safety basicsAbility to lift 50 pounds occasionallyAbility to stand up to 7 hoursKnowledge of portion sizesAbility to work well with othersPRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:To prepare and/or cook food in a kitchen, serve food to a cafeteria tray line, and perform cleaning activities. May assist in the effective overall operations of the Food and Nutrition Services Program at different kitchen locations as needed.Preparation of food itemsPrepare food cartsDistribute food carts to classroomsServe foodClean and sanitize all food service areas and equipmentMaintain and order supplies as neededUnloading and putting away stockTake and document temperaturesPrepare for next dayWash dishes, pots and pans as neededOther duties as assigned
