Coal Mining Professionals
Hire Resolve is assisting mining organizations in hiring experienced coal mining professionals across the United States. This multi-role opportunity covers surface and/or underground operations, engineering, maintenance, HSE, and production planning functions. These roles are designed for mid- to senior-level candidates and provide a pathway toward Superintendent, Operations Manager, and Site Leadership roles.Key ResponsibilitiesLead safe, compliant coal production across underground and/or surface operationsMaintain and strengthen MSHA compliance programs, inspections, investigations, and corrective actionsDrive daily execution through production planning, crew leadership, equipment utilization, and KPI reportingImprove equipment availability and reliability (mobile fleet, fixed plant, conveyor systems, prep plant interfaces)Support ground control, ventilation, and production sequence planning (as applicable)Oversee contractor management, permitting workflows (role-dependent), and operational readinessLead continuous improvement initiatives (cycle time, downtime reduction, cost/ton optimization)Support capital projects, maintenance shutdowns, and commissioning activitiesDevelop teams through coaching, SOPs, training, and performance managementRequirementsBachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Safety, or related discipline (or equivalent experience for certain leadership roles)Typically 5-12+ years in coal operations, maintenance, planning, or HSE leadershipStrong experience with MSHA requirements; underground and/or surface exposure preferredFamiliarity with maintenance systems (CMMS), work management, reliability practices, and reporting toolsStrong communication and leadership in site-based environments; comfortable with shift/rotation workBenefitsHealth Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)Retirement Plan (401k, IRA)Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D)Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)Family Leave (Maternity, Paternity)Short Term & Long Term DisabilityTraining & Development
