This is a high-impact role where strategy meets hands-on execution.If you thrive on solving complex security challenges, shaping policy, and protecting systems from evolving threats, this is your opportunity to lead from the front.What You’ll DoOwn the Security VisionLead and continuously strengthen Velociti’s end-to-end security posture across cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environmentsArchitect and implement controls across Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Azure, Salesforce, networks, and endpointsDrive Zero Trust initiatives, including identity-first security and least-privilege accessStay Ahead of ThreatsManage the full vulnerability lifecycle—from discovery to remediationMonitor threat intelligence and proactively adjust defensesAdminister and optimize tools such as EDR, SIEM, DLP, and firewallsLead penetration testing efforts and partner with external assessorsLead Incident ResponseAct as the primary responder for security incidentsOwn investigation, containment, eradication, and recoveryMaintain and test incident response plans and playbooksConduct root cause analysis and implement long-term fixesDrive Governance & ComplianceDevelop and enforce security policies, standards, and proceduresSupport frameworks such as NIST, CIS Controls, and SOC 2Maintain risk registers, support audits, and track exceptionsLead company-wide security awareness initiativesSecure Applications & SaaSPartner with application teams to embed security into the SDLCEvaluate SaaS platforms for risk (OAuth, APIs, data handling)Administer Microsoft Defender, Purview, and Cloud App SecuritySupport Salesforce security architecture and governanceStrengthen Identity & AccessOversee identity security across Entra ID, Active Directory, and SaaS appsEnforce MFA, Conditional Access, and Privileged Identity ManagementConduct regular access reviews to ensure least privilegeCollaborate & InfluenceServe as a trusted advisor across IT and business teamsPartner on network security, vendor reviews, and architecture decisionsDeliver clear, actionable security insights to leadershipHow You’ll Be MeasuredReduction in overall organizational riskTimely remediation of vulnerabilitiesEffectiveness of incident responseStrength and adoption of security policiesClear, actionable reporting to leadershipRequiredWhat You BringBachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field5–8 years of experience in security engineering or operationsDeep expertise in Microsoft security ecosystem (Entra ID, Defender, Purview, Azure)Strong knowledge of network security and Zero Trust architectureExperience with SIEM, EDR, and vulnerability management toolsProven incident response leadershipFamiliarity with frameworks like NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, SOC 2Strong communication skills, both technical and non-technicalPreferredCertifications such as CISSP, CISM, Security+, SC-100, or similarExperience securing Salesforce environmentsAzure cloud security architecture experienceExposure to AI security and governance (Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.)Experience with DLP and data classificationFamiliarity with enterprise firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto)Background in regulated environmentsWork EnvironmentOn-site role based in Riverside, MOStandard office setting with extended computer useOccasional after-hours or weekend work during incidents or critical deploymentsParticipation in on-call rotation for security coverage
