Headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware, Incyte has operations in North America, Europe, and Asia.Job SummaryThe VP, Head of Field Force Enablement & Excellence is responsible for building and leading a centralized capability that enables best-in-class performance across all US field sales teams. This leader will drive sales force effectiveness, training, incentive compensation, analytics, and operational excellence to maximize execution in market and support sustained growth across Oncology and Immunology portfolios.This role is a critical pillar of the US Commercial model, ensuring consistent, scalable capabilities that reduce duplication, elevate field performance, and enable data-driven decision-making.Key ResponsibilitiesField Force Effectiveness StrategyDefine and execute the enterprise-wide field force effectiveness strategy across all brands and therapeutic areasEnsure alignment with commercial objectives and P&L leaders while maintaining centralized excellenceDrive continuous improvement in field productivity, targeting, and executionSales Training & Capability DevelopmentBuild and lead a centralized learning & development (L&D) organization supporting all field teamsOversee:Sales training (content delivery, capability development, learning partners)Leadership development (with focus on first-line leaders)Integrate innovative approaches, including AI-enabled learning and engagement strategiesIncentive Compensation (IC)Lead design and execution of incentive compensation programs across field teamsEnsure alignment with strategic priorities, fairness, and performance differentiationDrive transparency and consistency across brandsSales Reporting & Performance ManagementEstablish a centralized sales reporting and performance functionDeliver standardized performance tracking, dashboards, and insightsEnable sub-national execution visibility and decision-making across teamsField Analytics & OperationsOversee field analytics and operations including:Territory design & alignmentCall planning & targetingField operations (e.g., fleet, compliance/audit)Leverage data to optimize deployment and maximize ROILeadership Capabilities & InnovationBuild advanced leadership capability programs for sales leadersChampion innovation, including:AI-driven engagement strategiesNew tools and approaches to enhance field effectivenessServe as a change leader for modernizing field executionCross-Functional CollaborationPartner closely with:Sales & Marketing leaders (P&L owners)Business Analytics (data, AI, insights)Market Access and Patient ServicesEnsure capabilities are embedded and adopted effectively in the fieldQualifications15+ years in pharmaceutical/biotech commercial rolesSignificant leadership experience in sales operations, field effectiveness, or commercial excellenceProven track record leading large, cross-functional teamsExperience building centralized capabilities or Centers of Excellence preferredCapabilitiesDeep expertise in:Sales force effectivenessIncentive compensation designField analytics and operationsStrong strategic thinking with execution focusExperience leveraging data, analytics, and AI to drive performanceAbility to influence senior stakeholders and P&L leadersLeadershipStrong people leader with experience building high-performing teamsChange management and transformation leadership experienceAbility to operate in a matrixed, fast-paced environmentDisclaimer: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this job.
