Join a pioneering rocket ship start-up, supported by top-tier venture capitalists as a Protocol Engineer.Our client is seeking a Protocol Engineer to lead their engineering initiatives, driving the development and implementation of advanced distributed systems. You will collaborate with a team of skilled engineers who contribute to both foundational and innovative network components. This role is ideal for highly motivated individuals who are eager to tackle complex infrastructure challenges and push the industry forward. Regular discussions on architecture, design specifications, and code reviews are integral to ensuring the delivery of top-quality code.The team is developing an integrated platform in Rust. While the primary focus is on Rust and component interactions, you will also engage with infrastructure and support projects in other languages (e.g., Go).Responsibilities:Passionately contribute to groundbreaking and complex projects.Lead software design, and refactor and enhance implementations.Communicate effectively and document code. Mentor junior engineers.Translate protocol specifications into actionable Rust code.Maintain a modular, high-performance codebase with numerous components.Automate security testing processes, creating innovative tools and frameworks for continuous system improvement.What You'll Bring:Practical blockchain experience.At least three years of experience in distributed systems, with deep expertise in L1 and L2 architectures.Proficiency in Rust, C, C++, or Go, with a strong emphasis on performance and security.Experience in designing, developing, and deploying scalable distributed systems.Analytical mindset with a thorough understanding of blockchain security threats and mitigation strategies.It would also be awesome if you had any of the following experience:Contributions to core protocol engineering open-source projects.Involvement in blockchain ecosystems, with contributions to runtime, schedulers, or core systems.Engagement with the blockchain security research community, evidenced by contributions to projects, publications, or conference presentations.Keywords: Protocol Engineer, Core Engineer, Distributed Systems Engineer, Blockchain Engineer, Rust Engineer, Systems Engineer, L1 Engineer, L2 Engineer, Crypto Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer.
