Competitive Wages And BenefitsFamily-friendly benefits including Health, Dental and VisionPaid vacationPaid holidaysEmployee meat purchase programHours for this position 8 30 am to 5 pmResponsibilitiesMicrobiology Technician responsibilities include but are not limited to Follows instructions on project methodology from laboratory management staffInsures correctness and accuracy of information presented to Food Safety Center on samplesMakes note of any sample and chain of custody differences in appropriate sample discrepancy logbookRuns all tests as specified for National BeefInputs all information from samples into electronic data base systemPrints required labels, work orders, work sheets and/or bench sheets for daily running of samplesFills out all required paperwork for samples receivedApplies daily labels to TPC, TC/EC and EB as necessaryResponsible for following all policies, procedures, and protocols as approved by upper management for sample setupReads and interprets test results on all samples ranChecks completed paperwork for accuracy and as part of the dual check program will check other technicians work before turning in.Assists the inventory clerk, when needed, with the receiving of incoming supplies, recording of data into receiving logbook (s), and stockingInspects all received supplies making note of the condition, lot #, expiration dates, and supply usage log.Assists with the daily monitoring of temperature accuracy and records all temperatures for incubators, freezers, and refrigerators on log sheetProperly implements all procedure modifications as outlined by laboratory management staffCompletes daily productivity and sterility quality assurance controlsResponsible for maintaining adequate levels of testing suppliesCompletes supply re-order log for all needed suppliesEnsures specified daily housekeeping are performedResponsible for completing specified weekly housekeeping tasks and log sheetResponsible for maintaining accurate records for quality system traceabilityAssists laboratory technicians in other areas in day to day duties when time permits or when neededUtilizes any available time to cross train in other areas of laboratoryPerforms and completes any other duties assigned by FSCML management staffThis position is a safety sensitive position. This is an On-Site position.QualificationsQualified Candidates for the Microbiology Laboratory Technician should possess the following Previous laboratory experience or science related course work preferred (must provide credentials/college completed course work)Good written/oral communication skills in EnglishSelf-Starter while being a team playerAbility to handle multi-tasking – not afraid to get dirtyExcellent organizational skills which allows for multitasking is a mustExcellent customer service skills with all levels- Upper management, Vendors, and production employeesMust possess computer skills in Microsoft Programs (Excel, Word, Access, Power-Point, Outlook/email)Flexibility in shift work (Saturday and Sundays as scheduled)Must be willing to be cross trained in many facets of laboratory workMust be at least 18 years of age or older.Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship at this time.Company OverviewNational Beef is a leader in producing fresh, chilled and further processed beef products for customers in the U.S. and worldwide.
