Cardiac Device Technician - Avondale

The Cardiac Device Technician is a patient educator, care coordinator, system navigator, and patient advocate with the mission to improve the cardiac experience for device patients at IMS. Provides professional clinical management of device patients under the direction of the Electrophysiology Physicians and other healthcare providers as needed. They are primarily responsible for performing device interrogations, programming of Pacemakers, ICD, Loop Recorders, remote transmissions, and scanning, interpreting and completing reports on Holter monitorsResponsibilitiesMaintains device check schedules and coordinates required clinic visits as neededMaintains and coordinates all device transmissions across all systemsAnalyzes device transmissions and appropriately documents reportingTroubleshoots transmissions process when insufficient readings come inOrders and maintains equipment to establish process for transmissionEducates patients on individualized to device patient needsAssures patient compliance with device follow-up and educationKeeps up with recalls and advisories from vendor companiesCommunicates with vendor tech services and physicians when concerns ariseIdentifies device patients ‘lost’ in system and attempts re-engagement with patientsAssists other clinical staff with patient care and other visit coordination as neededParticipates in process improvement programs as assignedMinimum Education And ExperienceAt least three (3) years of cardiology experience required with one (1) year experience in EP or cardiac device interrogation/programming/remote follow-up preferredCertification from a cardiac device program (ATI) or company (Abbott, Biotronik, Boston Scientific, Medtronic) preferred Medical Assistant certification/diploma requiredSpanish speaking requiredJoining IMS Care Center is more than saying “yes” to making the world a healthier place.
