Senior Public Accountant will join a partner-led advisory environment serving public and private companies across industries, including enterprises in the Fortune 1000 and high-growth organizations navigating pivotal events like IPO readiness, mergers and acquisitions, and carve-outs. Senior Public Accountant will report to an Accounting Advisory Manager or Senior Manager, guide Staff Accountants and project associates on engagement workstreams, and work closely with Controllers, SEC Reporting, FP&A, Internal Audit, and cross-functional finance leaders to deliver outcomes aligned to U.S. GAAP and FASB standards. Senior Public Accountant will: Lead client workstreams in Accounting Advisory, translating complex technical accounting topics into clear business recommendations that influence executives. Drive IPO readiness and public company support, including S-1 and ongoing SEC reporting support, drafting footnotes, and preparing pro forma information in collaboration with external auditors and legal teams. Support transaction accounting for M&A and carve-outs, including purchase accounting, consolidation, intercompany, and fresh-start accounting, with hands-on U.S. GAAP research tied to FASB guidance. Accelerate close and reporting cycles by improving reconciliations, journal entries, and analytics, while implementing controls and documentation that strengthen SOX readiness. Mentor Staff Accountants and Senior Accountant peers through review notes, coaching, and education development sessions that lift engagement quality. Advance quality improvement by standardizing workpapers, enhancing Excel models, and contributing to playbooks for revenue recognition, leases, equity, debt, and other complex areas. Partner with client stakeholders in FP&A, Treasury, and Operations to align technical conclusions with budget impacts, KPIs, and forecasting. Contribute to staffing and engagement operations, including timeline management, stakeholder communications, and relationship development that leads to follow-on projects. Preferred Experience and Qualifications: Public accounting audit or advisory background with approximately 35 years of progressive responsibility, or corporate reporting experience with similar complexity CPA or is progressing toward Certified Public Accountant licensure, and demonstrates mastery of U.S. GAAP with applied FASB research Hands-on exposure to SEC reporting, IPO readiness, or complex transactions Fluency in advanced Excel and modern ERPs, and can upskill others through mentoring, competencies building, and skills development. Polished communication, able to interface with executive presence, manage multiple priorities without dropping quality, and enjoying client service in Accounting Advisory.
