This role is ideal for a candidate with 2–5 years of experience who is interested in public-sector work and wants to continue building a long-term career through meaningful project responsibility, mentorship, and a clear path toward licensure and advancement.In this role, you’ll contribute to a wide range of municipal engineering disciplines, including transportation, water and wastewater, stormwater, and infrastructure, while gaining deeper involvement in how projects move from planning and review through design, permitting, construction, and completion.This opportunity is well-suited for someone who has developed a solid technical foundation and is ready to build on it through greater ownership, direct municipal exposure, and a clear path toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.ResponsibilitiesMunicipal Review & Technical AnalysisReview site plans, subdivision and land development applications, and capital improvement projects for compliance with municipal ordinances, engineering standards, and applicable regulationsPrepare technical review letters, engineering reports, and written recommendations for municipal clients, boards, and internal teamsSupport and, as appropriate, participate in planning board and zoning board meetings, responding to engineering comments and coordinating with applicants and stakeholdersApply engineering judgment to evaluate drainage, grading, roadway, utility, and stormwater components of development and public infrastructure projectsEngineering & DesignPrepare and contribute to the design of municipal infrastructure improvements, including roadway, drainage, utility, and site-related projectsAssist in the development of plans, specifications, cost estimates, and supporting technical documentation for municipal capital improvement projectsPerform engineering calculations and analysis related to grading, drainage, stormwater management, utility systems, and roadway designCoordinate with internal disciplines and external agencies to support project delivery and regulatory complianceConstruction AdministrationSupport construction-phase services for municipal projects, including submittal review, RFIs, field observations, contractor coordination, and documentation of field conditionsAssist in evaluating field issues and recommending practical solutions in coordination with senior engineers and municipal clientsContribute to project closeout activities and help ensure construction aligns with approved plans and specificationTeam Collaboration & DevelopmentWork closely with experienced engineers and municipal professionals in a collaborative environment that supports continued technical and professional growthTake increasing ownership of assignments while receiving mentorship aligned with Artheon’s commitment to internal advancement and PE-track developmentParticipate in professional development initiatives and contribute to a team culture focused on quality, responsiveness, and long-term client relationshipsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field2–5 years of relevant experience in civil, municipal, or site/infrastructure engineeringEngineer-in-Training (EIT) certification requiredDemonstrated progress toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure, with the goal of obtaining licensure within approximately 6–12 monthsStrong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort participating in or supporting public meetings and municipal coordinationAbility to manage multiple assignments, work collaboratively, and contribute effectively in a client-service environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience reviewing or designing projects involving municipal infrastructure, transportation, stormwater, water/wastewater, or land developmentFamiliarity with municipal ordinances, board review processes, and public-sector project deliveryExperience with AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar engineering softwareWorking knowledge of NJDEP, NJDOT, and/or local municipal standards and permitting processesBenefitsThe base salary range for this role is indicated in the posting.
