Their mission centers on delivering reliable, high-performance connectivity solutions with a commitment to technical excellence and quality craftsmanship.Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Fiber Technician with a strong background in high-count fiber and ribbon splicing to support large-scale data center and backbone infrastructure projects. This role focuses on the installation, splicing, and testing of high-density fiber systems, including cables up to 6912-count. The right candidate will thrive in fast-paced, precision-driven environments where attention to detail and consistent execution are paramount.Working closely with project leads and fellow technicians, you will play a hands-on role in bringing critical infrastructure to life. Your work will directly impact the reliability and performance of data center and backbone networks serving major enterprise and hyperscale clients. Whether you’re performing ribbon splicing, OTDR testing, or managing splice enclosures, you bring the discipline and technical know-how that high-stakes infrastructure demands.Duties And ResponsibilitiesPerform ribbon fiber splicing and mass fusion splicing on high-count fiber cables (864–6912 fiber count).Install, terminate, and dress fiber optic cabling in data center and/or outside plant (OSP) environments.Conduct OTDR testing, troubleshooting, and fiber characterization to verify network performance.Perform mid-sheath access and ribbonizing as required by project specifications.Install and manage high-count splice enclosures and fiber distribution systems.Read and interpret fiber schematics, splice matrices, and construction drawings with accuracy.Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of splicing results and test data.Ensure all work meets applicable quality, safety, and customer standards throughout each project.Required Experience / Skills3+ years of fiber optic installation and splicing experience in a professional setting.Proven hands-on experience with ribbon fiber and mass fusion splicing techniques.Experience working with high-count fiber cables (864+ fiber count preferred).Proficiency with OTDR equipment and fiber testing/characterization tools.Ability to read and interpret fiber network documentation, splice matrices, and schematics.Experience in data center, backbone, or large-scale fiber infrastructure deployments.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality in high-density work environments.Reliable, self-directed work ethic suitable for fast-paced, large-scale project environments.Preferred QualificationsExperience working on hyperscale or large campus data center builds.Familiarity with ribbon splicers such as Fujikura 70R/90R, Sumitomo, or similar platforms.Knowledge of high-density fiber infrastructure and cable management best practices.Prior experience in a fast-paced telecom or construction environment.Personal interest in fiber technology and staying current with industry advancements.What Success Looks LikeAbility to efficiently splice and test high-count fiber with minimal error rates across project milestones.Consistent attention to detail and clean workmanship in high-density fiber environments.Reliable execution and steady performance in fast-paced, large-scale deployments.Proactive communication with the project team and willingness to scale into higher-density environments.EducationNo formal degree required. Relevant certifications such as FOA CFOT, ETA Fiber Optics, or equivalent field training are a plus. Demonstrated hands-on experience is the primary qualification for this role.Additional NotesCandidates do not need direct 6912-count experience, but must demonstrate strong experience with high-count ribbon fiber (864–1728+) and the ability to scale into higher-density environments.
