Job Opportunity Best Western Ponderosa Lodge is searching for a Part-Time Front Desk Agent to join our team. Working closely with the General Manager, our Front Desk Agent is the face of our hotel, ensuring every guest has a superior experience throughout their stay. This role involves maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the lobby, breakfast area, restrooms, and exterior spaces. Our ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about hospitality and takes pride in their work. Job Responsibilities include welcoming and greeting guests with a warm friendly smile, responding promptly to customer needs, maintaining an inventory of vacancies, reservations, and room assignments, possessing a working knowledge of the reservations department, taking same-day reservations and future reservations when necessary, knowing cancellation procedures, knowing room locations, types of rooms available, and room rates, registering arriving guests and assigning rooms, coordinating room status updates with the housekeeping department, using persuasive selling techniques to sell rooms and to promote other services of the hotel, knowing daily activities and meetings taking place in the hotel, reporting any unusual occurrences or requests to the manager or assistant manager, managing and resolving guest complaints in a professional and courteous manner, processing guest check-outs and handling monetary transactions, maintaining customers' privacy, maintaining a high level of professional appearance and demeanor, keeping high-traffic areas clean and organized, punctuality, dependability, and regular attendance, treating all coworkers with respect, adhering to all hotel policies and procedures as outlined by hotel standards and Federal, State, and Local laws, including OSHA regulations, using appropriate protective equipment as needed for the job task, performing other duties as assigned. Successful candidates must have: eighteen years of age or older, high school diploma or equivalent, computer skills such as typing and navigating property management systems, general knowledge and experience in hotel facility operations, knowledge of surrounding areas and local events, excellent customer service and communication skills, self-motivated with the ability to work independently and handle stressful situations, ability to take direction and supervision from management, strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment, organized with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills, knowledge of proper telephone etiquette and credit, check cashing, and cash handling policies, ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, and squatting in the performance of daily activities will be expected, in addition to grasping and repetitive hand movement, ability to lift and move 30 lbs. or more.
