We are seeking a tactical accounting pro that has previous experience with both managing accounts payable and accounts receivable and maintaining general ledger entries in a busy mid-sized company. This position will report to the Controller and support them in ensuring accounting transactions and processes are efficiently completed, recommending improvements for consideration. This role requires excellence in hands-on accounting duties, attention to detail and a strong background with Excel and GAAP.
We are seeking qualified, experienced candidates with a preference for those based in the Orlando, Florida, or Orlando Metro area market. This role is a hybrid work schedule, with minimum once per week onsite work required (subject to change based on business conditions or needs). Role and Responsibilities
Manage accounts payable, including invoice processing, coding, approvals, and payment runs.
Oversee accounts receivable, including invoicing, collections, and customer account reconciliations.
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
Prepare and maintain general ledger and journal entries.
Support month-end close activities and assist with financial reporting.
Maintain accurate support schedules, documentation, and audit-ready records.
Monitor cash flow and contribute to cash forecasting.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and verify financial data.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal accounting policies.
Assist with sales tax calculations and filings.
Improve, streamline, and document accounting processes and internal controls.
Partner with operations and management to troubleshoot and resolve accounting issues.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
36 years of accounting experience in a small to mid-size company
Hands-on experience with accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, and general ledger
Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar)
Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, PivotTables, basic formulas)
Solid understanding of GAAP and familiarity with financial systems (QBO, Microsoft 365)
Excellent communication, analytical, and critical-thinking skills
Strong organizational and time-management abilities
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
High attention to detail and accuracy
Experience in service, construction, production, or seasonal industries preferred.
Prior exposure to month-end closing and financial statement preparation preferred.
Sales tax experience preferred.
Experience improving or scaling accounting processes preferred.

Work Environment and Schedule
Full-time || Primarily Remote
Monday Friday.
Flexible schedule with majority of hours overlapping company's core hours of 8:30am 5pm.
Occasional availability for evenings and weekends as needed for special projects.
Hybrid work schedule, with minimum once per week onsite requirements (subject to change based on business conditions or needs).Preference is for candidates based in Orlando or the Orlando Metro, Florida market.
