Thank you!Role: Senior IT Developer (ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server)Salary: £60,000-£65,000 p/aLocation: Lancaster (Office-based)The Opportunity:Our client, a growing estate agency, is looking for an experienced Senior IT Developer to join their team and take ownership of a business-critical platform that supports the day-to-day operations of the organisation. This is an individual contributor role and you will be the sole person in the development team.This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with complex systems, solving technical challenges and making a real impact. You'll play a key role in maintaining and enhancing an established application built across a mixed technology stack, while supporting its ongoing evolution towards more modern platforms.The successful candidate will work across the full software development lifecycle, from troubleshooting production issues and maintaining legacy code to developing new integrations and driving continuous improvements. This role would suit someone who is comfortable working within existing systems while helping shape their future direction.Key Responsibilities:Application Support & MaintenanceMaintain and support a business-critical CRM application built using Classic ASP, C# and SQL ServerDiagnose and resolve issues within a live production environmentEnsure the stability, reliability and performance of the platformDevelopment & Continuous ImprovementDevelop new features and enhancements across both front-end and back-end systemsBuild and maintain integrations with third-party applications using APIs and webhooksContribute to the ongoing modernisation of the software platformCollaboration & Knowledge SharingWork closely with internal stakeholders to understand business requirementsProduce and maintain technical documentation where requiredSupport knowledge sharing across the wider development teamWhat We're Looking For:Essential Experience:5+ years' commercial software development experienceStrong experience with C# and .NETExcellent knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including query writing, debugging and performance optimisationCommercial experience maintaining applications built with Classic ASPStrong debugging and troubleshooting skillsExperience developing and maintaining API integrationsA solid understanding of full-stack application architectureExperience using Git or other source control systemsExperience working within Visual Studio or similar development environmentsDesirable:Experience with ASP.NET (Web Forms, MVC or Razor)JavaScript, HTML and CSS experienceExperience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps and Power Automate)Experience working with Microsoft Azure, including Functions and integrationsKnowledge of modern front-end frameworks such as Angular or ReactUnderstanding of software architecture and design patternsWhat We're Looking For:We're looking for someone who enjoys working with complex legacy systems and takes pride in delivering stable, reliable software.
