Technical Rules & Standards Associate ILocation: San Diego, CA 92123 (Onsite – 5 Days/Week)Pay Rate: $36-38/HRAssignment Length: 1-Year Contract with Potential Extension and Possible FTE ConversionHours: 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM (30-minute lunch)Position OverviewOn behalf our of public utility client, we are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Technical Rules & Standards Associate I to support compliance and regulatory activities within a utility operations environment. This role is responsible for assisting with technical compliance programs, audit preparation, documentation management, evidence collection, and monitoring activities that help ensure adherence to industry reliability, security, and regulatory standards.The ideal candidate is a team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and possesses strong attention to detail. Experience with compliance documentation, reporting, Power BI, or Smartsheet is a plus.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in preparing compliance documentation for regulatory filings, self-certifications, and audit evidence packages.Review operational logs, technical records, and supporting documentation to verify compliance with reliability and security standards.Maintain compliance tracking systems, audit records, and evidence repositories.Support internal and external audits by gathering, organizing, and validating required documentation.Monitor updates to regulatory, reliability, and security standards and communicate changes to stakeholders.Participate in compliance training programs and support awareness initiatives.Follow established procedures for evidence collection, reporting, and record retention.Identify and escalate potential compliance gaps or documentation deficiencies.Support risk assessments, security reviews, and other compliance-related activities as assigned.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure ongoing adherence to technical rules and standards.QualificationsBachelor's degree in a related field OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.Experience working with compliance programs, audits, regulatory documentation, or quality assurance processes.Experience using Power BI, Smartsheet, or similar reporting and tracking tools.Experience supporting utility, energy, engineering, operations, or regulated environments.Familiarity with evidence collection, document management, and compliance tracking systems.Interview ProcessOne round of interviewsInterview panel consists of the hiring manager and two supervisorsAdditional InformationPotential opportunity for full-time conversion based on performance and budget availability.Employee must use own equipment.
