In this role, you’ll generate high-quality scan and inspection data that enables the metrology engineering team to validate builds, troubleshoot issues, and keep production moving to deadline. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, takes pride in precision and documentation, and is eager to cross-train and grow within Quality Control.Hours: 3:00 pm - 11:30 pmRate of pay: $30 - $38 per hour + 10% differentialWhat you'll do:Perform high-accuracy laser scanning of SPARC components to support production build-out and metrology engineering analysis, delivering results on tight timelinesOperate CMM equipment and run inspection programs for special requests and receiving inspections; document results clearly and consistentlySupport daily calibration checks, routine maintenance, and basic troubleshooting for metrology equipment (laser scanners, portable CMM arms, and fixed CMMs) to ensure reliable measurement performanceMaintain a safe, organized, and audit-ready quality lab by supporting 5S standards across Quality ControlWhat we’re looking for:High school diploma or equivalent6+ years of experience in a manufacturing or factory environmentWorking knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) through training, coursework, or on-the-job experienceExposure to advanced metrology methods (e.g., laser scanning, CMM inspection) through prior roles, training, or technical programsStrong foundation in mechanical inspection fundamentals (reading drawings, using precision measurement tools, and documenting results)Hands-on quality inspection experience (in-process, final, or receiving inspection)Familiarity with advanced metrology tools and workflows (e.g., laser scanners, CMMs, portable arms) and an interest in deepening expertiseProficient in interpreting engineering drawings and applying GD&T per ASME Y14.5Able to set up, maintain, and use common precision inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, bore gages, ring/plug gages, profilometer, coating thickness gage, comparator, sine bar, etc.)Experience operating CMMs and/or portable measurement arms (e.g., Romer/FARO) is a plusBonus points for: Experience with fabrication processes (machining, molding, casting, composites, welding, or similar)CAD experience (modeling, drafting, or interpreting models to support inspection)Basic data analysis and statistics familiarity (e.g., gage R&R, SPC, DOE)Must-have requirements: Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbsPerform activities such as stooping, typing, standing, or sitting for extended periods of timeWork in a facility that contains industrial hazards including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead (Pb), high voltage, high current, pressure systems, and cryogenicsWillingness to travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call occasionally#CFS-NEAt CFS, we excel in fast-paced environments, driven by our values of integrity, execution, impact, and self-critique.
