Network Systems Administrator

The primary function of this position is to oversee the management of all technology related systems for the University Campus. The performance of these responsibilities include the management, protection, configuration, expansion, troubleshooting, and monitoring of the university Cisco-based network systems to include all optical transport systems, local ethernet, wireless, and wide area networks. Maintain anti-spam, internet content filtering, and firewall systems. Provide backup and disaster recovery systems to guard against data loss. Administer Microsoft Active Directory-based domain including over 60 servers running e-mail, SQL database, card access system, printing services, web, VOIP telephone, access control, financial, unified messaging, lighting control, power monitoring, and facilities management systems. Evaluate, test, and recommends hardware and software, interfacing with vendors as required. Administer domain group policies. Maintain service and licensing contracts for essentialnetwork and server equipment. Be authoritative for DNS domain information. Provide guidance,leadership, and direction to all Information Technology staff. Analyze information flow and make recommendations for improvement, traffic analysis, and security. Provide and manage policies that affect information security, protection, and prevent intrusion and unauthorized access. Responds to work order requests, evaluates resolution, takes action for correction, and recommendations for improvement. The NSA is responsible for managing the data centers, maintaining center equipment, and controlling the environment to ensure protection of data as well as associated servers and equipment. Additional dutiesand/or special projects assigned at the discretion of the Supervisor based on the needs of the business.EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience and training required.EXPERIENCE: 5+ years in network and server systems.CERTIFICATION: Microsoft MCSE and Cisco CCNA highly desirable.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Experience with Cisco routers, switches, FirePower,Nexus OS. Proficiency in Cisco Call Manager and Unified Messaging required. Must be able to set up
