Hammar’s Studios is seeking an energetic, artistic, and customer-focused Lead Studio Art Instructor to join our growing creative team. This role is perfect for someone who loves teaching art, working with people of all ages, leading engaging creative experiences, and contributing to a fun, fast-paced studio environment. The Lead Studio Art Instructor is responsible for leading classes, workshops, camps, painting events, and private parties while also supporting studio operations, customer service, enrollment growth, and daily organization of the studio. This is a highly interactive role that combines art instruction, customer engagement, studio operations, and sales support within a collaborative creative atmosphere. Scheduling is based on studio programming, private bookings, camps, and event demand. Evening, weekend, and school vacation week availability is required. Key Responsibilities Art Instruction & Creative Experiences Confidently lead art classes, camps, workshops, birthday parties, paint nights, and creative experiences for children, teens, adults, and families Teach step-by-step acrylic painting classes and other studio creative programs Design and create painting samples and instructional materials for classes and events Adapt instruction to various ages, skill levels, and group sizes Create a positive, engaging, and encouraging classroom environment Support active participation and foster creativity in all students and guests Assist with setup, breakdown, and preparation for classes, camps, and events Direct and support assistants during larger camps and programs when needed Client Experience & Customer Engagement Create a welcoming, upbeat, and professional experience for all studio guests Greet customers and assist with registrations, reservations, purchases, and questions Professionally interact with customers while supporting studio sales goals Promote studio programs, classes, camps, memberships, and upcoming events Follow up on customer inquiries and sales leads as needed Help drive enrollment and repeat participation through positive customer relationships Studio Operations & Team Support Support day-to-day studio operations and maintain a clean, organized, and guest-ready environment Assist with inventory, supply organization, merchandising, and studio presentation Complete light administrative tasks and basic computer/POS functions Receive, unpack, and restock merchandise and supply deliveries Maintain studio cleanliness including washing brushes and dishes, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and dusting Assist with opening and closing procedures as needed Work independently or collaboratively within a small team environment Qualifications Must be 21 years of age or older Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required Willingness to complete CORI/background check and drug screening Strong communication and interpersonal skills Outgoing, energetic, and comfortable working with families and children Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced creative environment Basic computer, POS, and administrative skills Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision Passion for art, creativity, and customer engagement Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and school vacation weeks Ability to occasionally travel for off-site events Experience Preferred Experience leading and instructing step-by-step acrylic painting classes or group art events Previous teaching, childcare, camp, or youth program experience preferred Retail, hospitality, customer service, or keyholder experience is a plus Experience achieving goals and completing tasks in a timely and organized manner Physical Requirements Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours) Ability to lift up to 30 lbs Ability to climb ladders and assist with studio setup and organization tasks Preferred Traits We’re looking for someone who is: Creative, energetic, and engaging Friendly and highly customer-focused Organized and dependable Comfortable leading groups and speaking publicly Positive, patient, and encouraging Adaptable and team-oriented Excited to contribute to a fun and growing creative business Benefits Employee discount Flexible schedule Creative and collaborative work environment Opportunities for growth and leadership within the studio Dress Code: Business casual attire with company-provided studio apparel/uniform items.
