Staff will be required to perform the necessary work to maintain the optimum level of cleanliness in every building or worksite serviced by GuardianLocation:Laguardia International Airport New YorkPay Type: Paid WeeklyPay: $21.75/hrMust be available for a flexible schedule weekly hours: 40 Job DescriptionEssential FunctionsSweeps, vacuums, mops, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machinesSometimes using ladders, dusts and washes walls, cleans ceilings and dusts and polishes light fixturesMoves cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areasMay remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions. perform other incidental seasonal tasksSometimes using ladders, dusts and washes walls, windows, ledges, cleans ceilings and dusts, remove trash, heavy lifting up to 50lbsMove boxes, furniture and grates to clean areas, applies protection applications to walls floors and equipment. Removes protective applications from wall floors and equipmentAble to use Heavy weight style B floor Machine and carpet extractor or detailing machine.Floor & Project Technicians will maintain all types of floor areas through the process of stripping/refinishing hard surface floors and shampooing carpeted areas.Labeling chemicals correctly, operating chemicals dispensing units,measuring chemicals correctly.Inspect and ensure that all assigned areas are properly cleaned and in good repair, reporting all problems to the supervisorShampoo assigned carpeted areasComply with all Company policies and proceduresFollow all safety and sanitation regulations, reporting problems to the shift supervisorCarpeted AreasEmpty waste baskets and replace linersDust/clean tops of office furnitureVacuum all carpetingSpot clean soiled areas on carpets as neededSweep and mop tile areasWipe/clean vending machines and appliancesClean sink and counter areasNon-Carpeted AreasEmpty waste baskets and replace liners as neededSweep and spot mop tile floorsComplete damp mop tile floorsDust/clean cleared desks and surfaces of tablesMiscellaneousMust keep janitor’s closet neat and orderlyEquipment (such as vacuums) must be properly maintained at all timesKnowledge and SkillsWorking experience of basic janitorial duties and responsibilities is a MUSTMust have good listening and verbal communication skills.Must have the ability to speak English and SpanishMust maintain a neat appearance.
