Skunk Works is an integral part of Lockheed's Aeronautics business area responsible for advanced systems development including conceptual design and rapid prototyping of clean sheet solutions and improvements and derivatives to existing systems. Learn more about some of the incredible things we do.Applications Engineer Senior StaffThis role is for the Low Observable Material Application and Vehicle Integration Site Lead within the AMT, Advanced Manufacturing Technology (ManTech), team. AMT is a core functional team with Production Operations that provides functional support to programs and build teams through the development and transition of manufacturing technology. The primary focus for this role is to integrate and manage the multiple project efforts within the AMT portfolio in the area of low observable material application and vehicle integration. This includes various application methods and material systems, automated and manual, use of advanced technology such as robotic spray systems, dimensional metrology, visual projection, and performance measurement equipment.Additional Responsibilities And Role Description Include Technical site lead for the ManTech team responsible for manufacturing technology and development efforts in the area of advanced material application and vehicle integration across multiple programs: Advanced Development Programs, F-35, and F-22. Perform through direct execution and team delegation, project management functions; such as budget and schedule management, project reporting, cost benefit analysis, trade studies, etc. as well as technology development functions; manufacturing assessments, process definition and testing, industry capability evaluations and technical demonstrations. Guide the development and project execution of junior team members through day-to-day and high-level technical direction and oversight.RoleIn addition to this role's primary focus, project support may include various areas of aerospace manufacturing impacting the primary role ranging from: Metallic and composite fabrication Assembly System integration Aircraft finishes and coatings Manufacturing systems Must be a US citizen, this position is located at a facility that requires special access.
