Lovett Services is seeking a strategic, hands-on, and growth-minded Director of Finance & Accounting to lead the financial operations of a dynamic and expanding organization serving the construction and service industries throughout the Pacific Northwest.This is more than a traditional accounting leadership role. We are looking for a trusted business partner who can help guide operational and financial decision-making, improve processes, mentor a high-performing accounting team, and provide the financial leadership necessary to support continued growth and profitability.The ideal candidate brings deep experience in construction or service-based accounting environments, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to balance high-level strategy with day-to-day execution.If you thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy building structure and accountability, and want to make a measurable impact on a growing company, we want to hear from you.What You’ll DoFinancial Leadership & StrategyLead all accounting and finance operations across the organizationPartner with ownership and executive leadership on strategic financial planning and business decisionsDevelop annual budgets, forecasts, and financial projectionsDeliver meaningful financial reporting, variance analysis, and operational insightsMonitor company financial performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability and efficiencyConstruction & Service Industry AccountingOversee Work in Progress (WIP) reporting and job cost accountingEnsure accurate and timely month-end close and financial reportingProduce monthly financial statements, P&Ls, balance sheets, forecasts, and management reportsMaintain compliance with GAAP and internal financial controlsWork closely with operations leaders to align project performance with financial outcomesCash Flow, Process Improvement & Risk ManagementClosely manage cash flow and provide recommendations to maintain strong financial healthDevelop and improve financial processes, reporting tools, and internal controlsCoordinate with banks, auditors, tax advisors, and external partnersEnsure compliance with financial agreements, reporting requirements, and banking covenantsSupport long-term scalability through process development and operational improvementsTeam LeadershipLead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionalsFoster a culture of accountability, collaboration, accuracy, and continuous improvementServe as both a teacher and leader across departmentsSupport cross-functional communication between finance, operations, and executive leadershipWhat We’re Looking ForRequired Qualifications5–10+ years of progressive accounting or financial management experience3+ years in a Director-level accounting or finance leadership roleExperience within construction, plumbing, mechanical, or service-based industries strongly preferredStrong understanding of:Construction accountingWork in Progress (WIP) reportingJob costingCash flow managementFinancial forecastingGAAP accountingExperience leading month-end close and financial statement preparationAdvanced Excel skills and experience with accounting/ERP systemsAbility to work both strategically and tactically within a growing business environmentExceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skillsIdeal Candidate TraitsSelf-directed and highly accountableComfortable in a fast-moving, evolving organizationStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAble to communicate financial concepts clearly to operational teamsCollaborative leader who can inspire and develop othersProcess-oriented mindset with a continuous improvement approachWhy Join Lovett Services?At Lovett Services, you’ll join a company with a strong reputation, a collaborative culture, and a leadership team committed to growth and operational excellence.
