Job Posting – Commercial Lines Account ManagerPosition SummaryThe Commercial Lines Account Manager is an experienced and dependable insurance professional responsible for management of an assigned book of business to manage relationships with clients and ensure the client’s insurance needs are met. This role requires exceptional organizational and communication skills, technical coverage knowledge, and the ability to proactively manage client needs.Job DutiesBusiness Development – New and RenewalPartners with the Producer and Account Executive to execute renewal and marketing strategies, ensuring timely preparation and submission of all marketing materialsManages new business submissions, gathering complete underwriting information and providing competitive quotes to the Producer and Account ExecutiveIdentifies and pursues opportunities to enhance client programs through risk assessments, additional coverages, endorsements, or policy upgradesCollaborates with the Producer to solicit additional lines of business at renewalDevelops and maintains productive relationships with carrier representatives and underwriters to enhance favorable results for the agency and clientActively participates in agency meetings and professional development to remain current on market trends, legal changes, carrier appetite, and emerging coverage optionsClient InteractionServes as the primary day-to-day contact for the client, providing timely and professional responses to inquiries and requestsProactively manages client relationships, ensuring all service standards are metHandles policy changes, such as adding or removing vehicles, equipment, and locations, and payroll changesProvides clear, accurate insurance information to guide the client to informed decisionsCoordinates with the Producer and Account Executive on communication regarding complex and strategic client mattersTeam CollaborationSupports agency profitability and efficiency by adhering to established workflows and use of technologyAccurately maintains all client, carrier, and prospect records within the agency management systemCollaborates with internal team members, underwriters, and leadership to resolve service issues promptly and effectivelyJob Requirements3-7 years of insurance industry experience, with at least 2 years in Commercial Lines account managementStrong working knowledge of commercial coverages, risk management principles, and carrier underwriting practicesExceptional written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and agency management system: proficiency with AMS360 is preferredHighly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities under time constraintsSelf-directed, resourceful, and capable of working with minimal supervisionAbility to collaborate in a team environment and accept coaching and guidance from leadershipCollege degree preferredLicenses and Designations:Property & Casualty Producer License (Required)CWCA and CLCS designations (preferred)Actively pursuing CRIS or CIC (preferred)A Powers Commercial Lines Account Manager consistently maintains a professional, client-centered approach and demonstrates and embodies our Five Core Values of Connection, Diligence, Innovation, Integrity, and Humility.
