Job Title: Corporate Counsel – Employment, Compliance & Real EstatePosition Type: Full-TimeLocation: Hybrid – North New Jersey (3–4 days in office)About the RoleSeeking a Corporate Counsel to take ownership of employment matters, healthcare compliance, and lease management across a growing multi-location healthcare organization.This is a hands-on role. You will work directly with leadership, handle legal matters internally, and reduce reliance on outside counsel. The focus is execution, speed, and practical problem-solving—not over-lawyering.Core ResponsibilitiesEmployment & HR Legal SupportHandle employee relations issues, terminations, and escalationsSupport HR with policies, documentation, and complianceIdentify and address wage-and-hour risks (timekeeping, PTO, payroll)Respond to claims, complaints, and agency inquiriesHealthcare ComplianceSupport compliance across all locationsIdentify gaps in processes and documentationImplement practical solutions to reduce riskMaintain alignment with regulatory requirementsReal Estate & Lease ManagementReview and manage commercial leasesTrack landlord obligations and enforce lease termsHandle landlord issues (repairs, buildouts, compliance)Support lease negotiations and renewalsLitigation & Outside Counsel CoordinationManage smaller matters internallyCoordinate with outside counsel on active casesAssist with document collection and case preparationReduce legal costs by minimizing unnecessary external workLegal OperationsTrack legal matters and maintain organized recordsSupport legal budgeting and spend visibilityImprove internal processes for handling legal issuesWhat Success Looks LikeReduced outside counsel spendFaster resolution of HR and operational issuesStrong compliance discipline across locationsActive control of lease portfolio and landlord accountabilityOrganized and efficient handling of all legal mattersQualificationsRequiredJ.D. from an accredited law schoolActive bar admission (NY or NJ required)3–7 years of relevant legal experienceExperience in employment law, compliance, or contractsStrong organizational and execution skillsAbility to work independentlyPreferredExperience in healthcare or multi-location businessesExperience with commercial leasesFamiliarity with wage-and-hour compliancePrior in-house or operational experienceCompensationBase Salary: $110,000 – $140,000Performance-based bonusFull benefits packageWork StructureHybrid role (3–4 days in office)Direct collaboration with HR, operations, and leadershipNot a remote roleWho Will SucceedPractical, execution-focused mindsetComfortable making decisionsStrong problem-solving abilityAble to manage multiple prioritiesFocused on outcomes, not unnecessary processHow to ApplySubmit your resume and include:Experience handling employment or HR-related issuesAny lease or contract experienceOne example of solving a problem independently
