Class A Truck Driver
Safely and efficiently operate tractor and trailer transporting wood chips, mulch, logs and other forest products from various job sites to specified delivery facilities. All job duties must be carried out in a courteous, professional and safe manner. We provide our drivers with the latest model trucks, trailers and equipment.
Drives truck and trailer to haul logs, wood chips, or other forest products
Applies knowledge of commercial driving and skill in maneuvering vehicle at varying speeds in difficult situations: such as heavy traffic, inclement weather, or in tight loading/unloading areas off highway and private dirt roads
Abides by all Company, DOT, State and Federal transportation safety regulations
Ensures load is properly secured and weight is evenly distributed on truck and trailer
Performs pre-trip inspection of truck and checks operating condition of truck on daily basis.
Sweeps truck and trailer free of debris
Obtains and transfers load slips, shipping bill of lading and necessary paperwork
Maintains records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations including driver’s logs, records of fuel purchases, mileage records and other records required by the company
Requires high degree of attention and considerable dexterity in the control of tractor trailer and in preventing damage to materials and trailer equipment
Must be able to communicate with supervisor and dispatcher about changing site conditions, routes, paperwork and restrictions, that may arise
Upload all necessary documentation into Samsara IAW the MFP Driver Upload SOP
Must have a valid Class A CDL driver’s license, current DOT physical examination card, and a clean DMV record
At least one year of over the road experience; log hauling experience is preferred
Must meet Department of Transportation physical and medical requirements and pass substance abuse screening; subject to random drug testing as required by DOT
