Salyersville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center - POSITION PURPOSE:The Resident Transport Driver is responsible for safely transporting residents to andfrom scheduled medical appointments, activities, and other approved outings.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION• Safely transport residents to medical appointments, activities, and other approved outings.• Assist residents with entering and exiting the vehicle, including the use of wheelchairs, walkers, and othermobility devices.• Ensure all residents are properly secured using seat belts or wheelchair restraints.• Maintain the cleanliness and basic upkeep of the facility transportation vehicle(s).• Conduct routine vehicle safety checks and report maintenance needs promptly.• Maintain accurate transportation logs including resident name, destination, and time of departure andreturn.• Communicate appointment times and transportation schedules with nursing staff and administration.• Provide courteous and respectful interaction with residents, families, and healthcare providers.• Follow all facility policies, infection control guidelines, and safety procedures.• Maintain confidentiality of resident information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.• Assist with additional facility-related tasks when transportation duties are completed, as assigned.EDUCATION / REQUIREMENTS• Must be able to assist residents with transfers when entering or exiting the vehicle, pushwheelchairs and assist with mobility devices.• Must be able to lift or move items up to 25-50 pounds when necessary.• Must have/maintain a safe driving record.• Must comply with all facility policies and procedures.• Must successfully complete any required background checks or scree
