AmeriStaff Employment and Staffing Solutions is seeking a hands-on Processing Supervisor to oversee the daily operation of a new fish processing facility. The ideal candidate will play an important role in building and growing this new operation, with the opportunity to expand responsibilities and advance as the business grows. Pay: $60,000 to $70,000, depending on experience Responsibilities of the Processing Supervisor: Participate directly in the daily processing of fresh tilapia, including handling, scaling, evisceration, washing, chilling, weighing, packing, icing, labeling, and preparation for shipment. Oversee all daily processing activities and coordinate production to ensure efficient workflow and product quality. Ensure the operation remains in compliance with all applicable food safety and processing regulations in the State of Virginia. Oversee cleaning and sanitation of processing areas. Coordinate the daily processing schedule based on harvest volumes, customer orders, product specifications, and shipping requirements. Serve as the primary on-floor person responsible for following the facility's HACCP plan, sanitation procedures, and food safety program. Monitor required food safety controls and complete HACCP, sanitation, temperature, receiving, processing, and other required records accurately and on time. Ensure finished products meet established quality standards and are properly prepared for shipment. Requirements for the Processing Supervisor: Ability and willingness to spend the majority of the workday working hands-on in the processing area. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to perform frequent repetitive processing motions and regular use of hands. Ability to regularly lift and handle fish, containers, ice, and packaging materials. Ability to lift approximately 50 pounds when necessary. Ability to work in a cool processing environment maintained at approximately 45°F. Ability to work around water, ice, wet floors, processing equipment, knives, cleaning chemicals, and seafood. Ability to wear required PPE, including protective clothing, gloves, footwear, and other equipment as appropriate. Willingness to participate directly in cleaning and sanitation activities. #INDAI2472
