Docketing Clerk
Paul, Weiss is seeking an experienced Docketing Clerk to support the Managing Attorney’s Office in New York. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate calendaring of litigation deadlines and ensuring compliance with court rules and firm procedures across federal and state jurisdictions.Duties And ResponsibilitiesCalculate, docket, and maintain critical deadlines for federal and state court matters nationwide, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable court rules.Perform ongoing calendar management, including updating deadlines based on filings, court orders, and procedural developments.Prepare and distribute daily docket and calendar reports to attorneys and legal staff; proactively communicate updates, discrepancies, or upcoming deadlines.Review and maintain case data within the docketing system, ensuring accuracy of party information, assignments, filings, and deadlines.Execute electronic filings in federal and state courts nationwide in accordance with court-specific requirements and firm protocols.Collaborate with attorneys, legal assistants, and court personnel to research and clarify procedural and docketing questions.Conduct docket research and retrieve case-related information from court systems and electronic databases.Coordinate ancillary tasks, including obtaining transcripts, arranging service of process, managing hard-copy filings, notarizations, and document retrieval through vendors.Assist with special projects and provide additional administrative or docketing support as needed.Skills And Qualifications2–4 years of litigation docketing and e-filing experience in a law firm or comparable legal environment.Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local court rules, including judge-specific procedures.Demonstrated experience with rules-based docketing systems; proficiency with CourtAlert strongly preferred.Comprehensive familiarity with NYSCEF and CM/ECF e-filing systems.Experience with California state court docketing is a plus.Exceptional attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in deadline calculation and data entry.Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple matters and competing deadlines.Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with attorneys, staff, and court personnel.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Proficiency in legal technology tools and Microsoft Office applications.ScheduleThis is a hybrid role requiring in-office attendance in accordance with departmental guidelines. Overtime is required.Salary:$70,000 - $85,000. Paul, Weiss offers competitive compensation and benefits packages.
