Lead Software Engineer

Position DescriptionCGI is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build modern, cloud-native applications for enterprise clients. In this role, you’ll design and deliver scalable software solutions using technologies like React, AWS, and modern backend frameworks (Python, Node.js, Java, or .NET). You’ll work directly with clients and internal teams to turn complex business challenges into high-quality technical solutions.This is a hands-on engineering role with opportunities to lead design decisions, mentor team members, and influence delivery practices—all within a fast-paced consulting environment.Your future duties and responsibilitiesDesign, build, and deliver modern full stack applications across web and cloud environmentsPartner with clients and stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutionsDevelop front-end applications using React and modern JavaScript frameworksBuild robust backend services and APIs using Python, Node.js, Java, .NET, or similar technologiesArchitect and implement cloud-native solutions (AWS / Azure), including serverless and microservices patternsContribute to and improve CI/CD pipelines, automation, and DevOps practicesParticipate in architecture discussions, solution design, and technical planningMentor and support engineers while contributing to a collaborative team environmentHelp drive delivery excellence through code quality, scalable design, and continuous improvementRequired Qualifications To Be Successful In This RoleExperience designing and building scalable software applications across the stackStrong proficiency in modern front-end development (React preferred)Experience with backend development in at least one major language (Python, Node.js, Java, or .NET)Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and modern application patternsExperience working with APIs, databases, and distributed systemsUnderstanding of CI/CD, DevOps, or automation practicesStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate business needs into technical solutionsAbility to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersNice to HaveExperience building cloud-native or serverless applicationsExposure to data engineering, analytics, or ETL workflowsExperience with tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Infrastructure as CodeCloud certifications (AWS, Azure)CGI anticipates accepting applications for this position through May 30, 2026.Other Information:CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
