As a Mechatronics and Robotics Technician, you will serve as a front line technical expert supporting integrated mechanical, electrical, and controls based systems that power a large scale fulfillment and distribution environment. You will work across interconnected automation platforms that include conveyor networks, robotic handling systems, automated packaging equipment, and sensor driven control systems. The role requires practical troubleshooting depth across electrical, mechanical, and controls layers, not just component swap outs. You will be expected to diagnose failure modes, trace signals, validate device behavior, and restore system functionality with minimal supervision. The role goes beyond routine maintenance. You will independently investigate faults, isolate root causes, and execute corrective repairs across robotic cells, automated conveyance, sortation equipment, drives, and smart sensing devices. You will regularly work inside control enclosures, on energized and de-energized equipment following safety procedure, and alongside live operations teams where response time and technical accuracy matter. This is an ideal opportunity for technicians who enjoy complex troubleshooting, hands on technical work, and continuous learning in automation, robotics, and controls technology. The environment rewards diagnostic thinking, disciplined safety behavior, and ownership of equipment reliability outcomes. What You Will Own and DeliverRestore failed automation and robotic systems to operational condition through structured troubleshootingTake technical ownership of assigned equipment zones and critical assetsExecute both planned and corrective maintenance with high documentation accuracyIdentify repeat failure patterns and recommend reliability improvementsSupport rapid response repair activity during operational events and unplanned downtimeMaintain readiness of critical spare parts, tools, and test equipmentProvide technical feedback to reliability and engineering partners on recurring failure pointsCore Technical ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot electro mechanical failures across automated material handling, robotic, and packaging systemsPerform structured fault isolation using multimeters, clamp meters, and basic diagnostic toolsTrace control circuits using electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, and point to point wiring printsDiagnose device level faults on PLC controlled equipment including sensors, inputs, outputs, and actuatorsReplace and recommission field devices including photo eyes, proximity sensors, encoders, solenoids, and limit switchesInspect and repair mechanical power transmission components including chains, sprockets, belts, pulleys, couplings, and bearingsService motors and drives including motor starters, contactors, overloads, and variable frequency drivesValidate safety circuits including e stops, light curtains, interlocks, and guard switchesPerform alignment, tensioning, and timing adjustments on high speed conveyor and sortation equipmentExecute preventive and predictive maintenance tasks using task standards and tolerance rangesCapture failure codes, device states, and repair actions in CMMS with clear technical notesSystems and Technology ExposureTechnicians in this role regularly work with:High speed conveyor and sortation systems including merges, diverts, transfers, and accumulation zonesRobotic handling and automated workstations such as pick modules, palletizing cells, or guided automation platformsPLC based control systems at the field device level including input and output devices and control panelsMotor control systems including starters, contactors, overload protection, and variable speed drivesElectrical distribution panels and low voltage industrial control circuitsPneumatic systems including valves, cylinders, regulators, and air preparation unitsHydraulic components where installed, including actuators and control valvesIndustrial safety systems including guarded zones, interlock circuits, and emergency stop networksSmart sensors including photoelectric, inductive, capacitive, and barcode based detection devicesMaintenance and asset tracking platforms such as CMMS for work orders and asset historyRequired BackgroundHigh school diploma or GEDOne or more years of hands on technical maintenance experience in an industrial or automated settingDemonstrated electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilityExperience working with industrial equipment, controls components, or automation devicesAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawingsComfortable using digital tools and maintenance tracking systemsPhysically able to lift up to fifty pounds and work at elevation when requiredAuthorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorshipPreferred BackgroundTechnical diploma or associate degree in mechatronics, robotics, electrical, or industrial maintenanceTwo or more years supporting automated or robotics driven equipmentExperience working around PLC controlled systems and industrial controls panelsExperience troubleshooting sensors, drives, and motor control circuitsCMMS usage experienceFormal apprenticeship or trade program completionTraining in industrial electrical safety practicesEqual Employment Opportunity: CBRE has a long-standing commitment to providing equal employment opportunity to all qualified applicants regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, pregnancy, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, veteran status, political belief, or any other basis protected by applicable law.Candidate Accommodations: CBRE values the differences of all current and prospective employees and recognizes how every employee contributes to our company's success.
