Patient Access RepresentativeResponsible for patient-facing registration and other associated tasks like information collection, validation, and requisitioning of orders and services. Participates in Insurance-related tasks including, but not limited to verification, collection of co-payments, and collection of associated paperwork. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies and protocols. Acts as a liaison between patients, providers, payers, and other related stakeholders for all post-care matters related to account resolution.Principal Accountabilities: (including but not limited to)The Patient Access Representative (PAR) plays a vital role in the patient and family experience, serving as an initial point of contact within our health systemSecuring accurate information,Interpreting and communicating patient responsibilityObtaining accurate patient identification is essential for the financial and operational success of the organizationGreeting customers with a smile and address customers by name in a courteous, respectful and professional mannerAttempting to resolve customer questions and concernsAdapting to changes in the work environmentMeeting shift expectationsHandling challenging customersObtains and verifies patient information for registrationMaintains contact with third-party payers to determine reasons for outstanding claims and communicates to facilitate speedy payment of claimsRequests payment of financial dues from patient or guarantorsObtains federally required and hospital related consents in a timely mannerReconciles daily bank bags and posts dues collected and/or data entry or charge codes within the financial system.Ensures compliance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and works in various patient settings and locationsPerforms other related duties as assignedQualificationsRequired:HS Diploma or equivalentAbility to lift more than 25lbs if neededPreferred:Customer service experienceElectronic Medical Record (EMR) experience, preferably EPICMinimum of 1+ years of experience in Patient Access, Medical Office, Health Insurance or relevant area.
