We have a legacy of providing innovative solutions that simplify daily operations.About the RoleWe are seeking a Protection & Control Design Engineer who will be primarily responsible for a wide variety of transmission, generation and distribution projects involving protection and control and physical design drawings. These include protection and control and physical design projects that range from new substations to brownfield installations. This position will be responsible for working independently as well as within a team to complete all projects.ResponsibilitiesBe responsible for the design and quality control of system protection and control projects for utility substations. This includes one-lines, three-lines, AC/DC schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, bill of material, etc.Be responsible for the design and quality control of physical design projects for utility substations. This includes electrical plans and profiles, grounding plans and details, conduit and raceway layouts/details/schedules, Bills of Material, and calculations such as voltage drop, conduit fill, breaker sizing, etc.Interface with internal and external team members, such as Principal Engineers, Project Engineers, Electrical Designers, Physical Designers, Draftsmen, Project Managers, outside contractors, and support organizations.Work with a team to meet project specifications, cost control, and schedule objectives.Interact with clients and take a leadership role in assigned aspects of the projects.Be involved with project site evaluations and preparing engineering scope.QualificationsBachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from an ABET accredited engineering school.Minimum of 5 years of experience required.Required SkillsAbility to recognize relay one-lines, three-lines, control schematics, wiring diagrams, etc.Ability to travel up to 10%.Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.Strong computer and software skills.Exceptional organizational skills.
