Connectivity Engineer (NAO) - Split Shift
Description Roles and Responsibilities Project Planning & Control - Create, maintain, and report onsite project and program scope, schedules and milestones.Work closely with site project management teamthroughout the project lifecycle from the creation of projectand program plans through project close out. Learnings - Continually review ongoing projects forefficiencies in schedule, budget, and opportunities toenable cross-functional partners to be successful.Document data points to assist with field coordination ofprojects. Support development of project managementbest practices and initiatives, coordinating SOPs/SIPs withvendors, and participating in global and regional standards.Coordinate lessons learned with the internal and externalcross functional partners. Forecasting - Support project controls team withforecasting and budget efforts as required. Share currentproject status with upstream and downstream partners,ensuring crisp and complete handoffs between teams. Technical Reviews - Establish milestones for equipmentpurchase and track and report against these milestonesAssist with the selection and review of a contractor tosupport the structured cabling work within a data center. Metrics - Report progress and risks on site projects andother initiatives to key stakeholders. Workflow - Work with installation partners to establish andtrack milestones. Conduct pre-project planning, projecthandoffs, and ensure design delivery and verification.Identify and respond to project risks and high-priorityissues rapidly and effectively through effective action andappropriate escalation. Track and manage project changeorder requests. Vendor Field Management - Responsible for all connectivityactivities within construction, projects on site includingtracking and reporting actual progress related to scheduleexpectations. Set and communicate clear expectationstogether with the immediate site team, build keyrelationships with our installation partners, foster a safe,collaborative working environment and execute a goal of‘right first time.’ Quality Assurance - Perform physical inspections to ensurevendor work meets DEC quality standards throughout thelifecycle of the data center. Validate physical installs, testreports, build accuracy, material and local code complianceincluding constructability reviews on multiple designphases. Technical Field Lead - Technical lead for industrystandards, responsible to lead product evaluation, design,and installation methods in the field including scopeclarification, design and installation details as the owner ofthe Request for Information process. Technical Coordination - Develop solutions to in-fieldscope-gap or clash issues. Partner with DEC design andengineering teams to digitally support design reviews,BOM reviews, and as-built drawing validations. Communications & Cross functional team engagement -Liaise with construction partners to ensure deliverables aremet during new builds and retrofits. Coordinate withlogistics partners, vendors, and suppliers to ensure asmooth end to end flow of materials as needed. Workclosely with the relevant teams to proactively communicateprogress and project risks and initiatives to keystakeholders. Safety - Ensure that vendors adhere to safety obligations inaccordance with local regulations and DEC Safety bestpractices. Lead a 'safety first' experience while working withothers, in support of shared goals. Foster an environment ofopen and transparent communication whileacknowledging demonstrated experience in EHS practices. Skills scheduling coordinating, construction, qa/qc, fiber optic cabling, networking protocols, data center, fiber optic testing, audit support, validation, commissioning, isp, network connectivity Preferred Qualifications Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience reviewing and leading installations to designdocuments and specifications Data center development and/or constructionmanagement experience. Experience with Primavera 6. Experience managing IT or IP Network deploymentprojects in a mission critical environment requiringcoordination across multiple disciplines for the delivery of acommon goal. Experience in leading deployments of Network/Structurecabling infrastructure. Experience with fiber optic testing at scale inclusive ofcomplex troubleshooting. Experience with outside plant cabling (OSP) deploymentsincluding OTDR/OLTS testing. Experience with Quality Assurance and Quality Control,including progressive inspections and acceptance. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Pataskala, OH. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $80.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
