The hourly range for this position is $17.95 to $19.00 and is commensurate with experience.The Monitor will provide monitoring and security for the housing facility and its residents, both during the day and overnight, as scheduled.The position is located at Kuehner House on Good Hope Road in SE Washington, DC. Kuehner House is an affordable housing program designed specifically for the elderly, including emergency housing for abused and neglected elderly and a community day center.Schedule: Week 1Saturday & Sunday: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm and Week 2Friday 4:00 pm-7:00 am and Sunday 4:00 pm-8:00 am (48 hours bi-weekly)Required1-3 years of experience in social services and experience providing services to seniors.Required License/CertificationCPR/First Aid; DC Food Handlers CertificationExpected Contributions:Oversee house operations and respond to client issues at night or during the day based on scheduleConduct regular house walk-throughs and submit shift logs at the end of each shiftPerform drug tests, as neededRespond to emergencies and contact management as needed, develop serious incident reports when neededMonitor and document client medicationsAssist in meal preparationEnforce the policies of the programKnowledge/Skills/Abilities Required:Ability to work independentlyAbility to set professional boundariesProblem-solving skillsAbility to work with diverse audiencesProficient in Microsoft Office (Including Word, Excel, & Outlook)Reports to: Program ManagerPosition Designation: This position is designated as Safety Sensitive. You may be subject to drug testing before or during your employment with SOME. In this position, you may be disqualified from employment based on the presence of marijuana in test results, even if you possess a medical card authorizing the use of medical marijuana.Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
