Administration Assistant Water Distribution/Meter Shop
POSITION SUMMARY: Provides administrative support for the Water Meter Shop and Water Distribution divisions at Central Services. Serves as the telephone receptionist and the contact person for the general public in regard to water. JOB DUTIES:Provides administrative support to the Water Meter Shop and Water Distribution supervisor and crewsOrder and distribute office and shop supplies for Water and Water Meter Shop.Completes material requisition forms and enters data in computerMaintains service location card file and data baseGenerates and processes service orders for utility repairs and new service installationsCoordinates water meter exchangesMaintains inventory in the AS400 and assists with physical inventory counts for water meter, water distribution, and sewer Orders supplies for meter shop and water distribution Obtains quotes for tools, supplies and miscellaneous items as directed Prepares billing information for material sales and fire hydrant rentalsProcesses payroll for water meter, water distribution, and sewer employees and backup to other adminsReports and records streetlight outages.Provides backup support for other Public Works Department administrative assistantsOther duties as assigned by the Public Works Department Office Manager QUALIFICATIONS:Training and ExperienceAssociate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school plus two (2) years' related experience; or high school diploma or GED equivalent plus four (4) years' related experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
