Production Manager
Production ManagerWe are seeking an experienced and motivated Production Manager to lead our manufacturing teams. The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of two production floors, ensuring that production targets are met, quality standards are maintained, and safety protocols are followed. This role requires a strong leader who can drive continuous improvement and foster a culture of teamwork and accountability.Duties:Production Planning & Management:Manage adherence to production schedules to meet customer demands and optimize resource utilizationMonitor production processes, identify problems (e.g., bottlenecks), and implement solutions to increase productivity & efficiencyEnsure that production goals are met within the specified time frames and budgetTeam Leadership:Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of production staff, including line supervisors, machine operators, and assembly workersConduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and set performance goalsFoster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvementManage current and new staff through performance, attendance and behavior management, discipline, training, and interviewing and hiring new employeesQuality Assurance:Ensure that all products meet or exceed quality standards by implementing and monitoring quality control proceduresWork closely with quality assurance associates to address any quality issues and implement corrective actionsMaintain compliance with quality assurance manual, industry standards and regulations (i.e., OSHA)Work towards ISO certification(s)Safety & Compliance:Promote a culture of safety by ensuring that all employees adhere to safety protocols and proceduresConduct regular safety audits and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirementsInvestigate and report on any accidents or incidents, implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrencesInventory & Supply Chain Management:Work with purchasing department to manage inventory levels of raw materials, components, and finished products, ensuring timely delivery of materials and optimal levelsMinimize waste off of production machinesContinuous Improvement:Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to enhance production efficiency and reduce costsImplement manufacturing principles / best practices to drive operational excellenceMonitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify areas for improvementEnsure that the facility and equipment are maintained in peak conditionQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field (preferred)5 years of production management experience in leading and managing production teams in a fast-paced environmentPrevious working experience in steel fabrication – utilizing progressive stamping presses/dies and related equipment – and preferably specific to the building materials industryPrior supervisory experience to include performance management, scheduling, coaching/trainingGood leadership, communication, organizational, time management skills; attention to detail Computer skills.
